About Us
Welcome to the D ynamic M ind B ody E nergy M atrix website. The series of courses offered on this site are designed to inspire and enthuse, to challenge and motivate, but perhaps above all to take a new perspective on the way we are in the world, both as human beings and therapists.
"The real voyage of discovery consists, not in seeking new lands, but in seeing with new eyes."
Marcel Proust
Guiding Philosophy
There is a natural progression in manual therapy from the gross to the subtle, from working on someone to working with someone, from overcoming resistance within the body to establishing trust with that body. The courses we offer, presents an exciting journey from the physical structure of the body, into the realms of the mind and the energy matrix, all of which are merely a reflection of one another. By bringing the focus back into our bodies through our senses and experiencing the harmonies and disharmonies that exist, we can understand at an experiential level how our mind influences our physical state and indeed the way in which we move and visa versa. The energy system and noticing how we move can be utilised not only to monitor this dynamic relationship, but also to facilitate change, that will create an environment that supports our well being rather than undermining it.
Web site image (Home Page)
Since the construction of this website in 2004, many have asked of the significance to the image in background of the web page. In a sense it very much reflects the personal journey, I have experienced as a therapist. The more I have come to know, the more I realise I don't know! The papers strewn across the floor represent my failed and frustrated attempts at trying to work out the many unanswered questions I have as a therapist. The unopened filing cabinets have now become the focus of my attention, but there is no attempt to force open these draws, more a sense of listening, observing, and waiting. What does the image conjure up for you?
Lecturers

Stuart Robertson
BEd (Hons), BSc. MSc. Physiotherapy
Stuart has spent over a decade teaching nationally and internationally, predominantly on the integrative role of the myofascial system and its importance in dysfunction and dis-ease. This work has acted as an integral bridge into the clinical development and integration of mind body techniques and energy work into the teaching of his manual therapy skills. His background in physical education has also led him to develop a series of exciting physical exercises linked to the senses, which can be used in the clinical setting for specific injuries or simply for proactive health. |
The skills he brings to his teaching have evolved over a period of more than a quarter of a century of experience. His philosophy as a teacher during that time has changed from one of 'telling' to one of 'guiding'. His aim is to rekindle that sense of enthusiasm, motivation and desire we had for self exploration as a child.
His clinical practice has involved working with international sportsmen through to being the clinical specialist in an NHS chronic pain department. He now works from his clinic at home, so in between clients or patients he gets to play with the kids!
